The team at Mawaleh has always stood in solidarity with the Syrian queer community and against the oppression of the Assad regime. We celebrate its downfall, but recognise the ongoing challenges and dangers faced by queer Syrians under the current de facto authorities.
We want you to know that we see you, we hear you, and we are committed to providing a platform for your voices and stories.

Mawaleh Magazine is being revived under the umbrella of Intersections e.V., a Berlin-based organisation dedicated to intersectionality and human rights. We are actively seeking funding to expand our capacity and publish regularly.
While we will not be able in the foreseeable future to commit to a monthly publishing schedule as we did in the past, we are dedicated to providing consistent and meaningful content. In the initial phase, we envision Mawaleh as a space for:
Sharing stories: We invite you to share your experiences, perspectives, and creative expressions.
Building community: Connect with other queer Syrians and allies.
Advocating for change: Raise awareness about the challenges faced by the LGBTQI+ community in Syria.
We are excited to embark on this new chapter with you. Stay tuned for updates on our relaunch and ways to get involved. Follow us again on Facebook www.facebook.com/mawale7, visit our website at www.mawaleh.net, or contact us at mawaleh@intersections.ngo
Stay safe!
